The console terminal command below will install most of those without any issues. Where did you read that you need to install those extra packages? How did you install Shotcut? With Shotcut closed, bring up the "Synaptic Package Manager (SPM)" and search for those packages "libsox2 libsdl2-2.0-0 libjack0 libxkbcommon-x11-0" and install them from there keeping an eye on the bottom to make sure nothing shows in the broken box, or that it wants to remove packages you may not want removed. If there is a problem with one of the video files you added to your project, that would stop the "rendering" process as well.Īlthough I have Shotcut installed and I have used Shotcut before, I am not very experienced with it.

It would help to know what the video project settings are, like Box or Widescreen, NTSC or PAL, 1080p at 25fps what video file type are you trying to make (export or render) like mp4, mkv, etc., are all the videos you added to your project the same video type (like all mp4) and resolution size, or do they vary, etc.? If your system does not have enough system memory (ram), then you may have to reduce your project's resolution like from 1080p to 720p, or perhaps there might be some other settings that could help. If you run " inxi -Fxzd" and " lsusb" from the console terminal prompt, highlight the results, copy and paste them back here, that should provide enough information. It would help to know more about your system setup. Shotcut (Win version) worked perfectly on Windows and the Linux version worked fine here on my Linux version on the short test video.

I am running Cinnamon 18.3 on an ASUS Sabretooth 990fx motherboard with an AMD 6100 cpu, 16GB of DDR3 and 2x NVIDIA GeForce 620 video cards. 5 times (when I reopened Shotcut there was an autosave of the project). That SHOULD have taken me to a screen where I can verify all the info from the previous screen and where I can specify the file name and where I want it exported to. The first screen where tech specs are set.resolution, frame rate, file type desired, etc.was fine.

When I went to Export the esport started fine. Got it just like I wanted, watched it start to finish and it was just right. I just spent three hours editing a video with 9 clips.

It was working fine.I did a test clip and simple edits worked, and it exported in mp4 just as I wanted.

I installed Shotcut after awitching from Win7 to Linux last week. I hope there are some expirienced ShotCut users here who can answer newbie question(s).(newbie to linux, VERY newbie.NOT new to Shotcut).
